<p>No, One does not need to be a genius to be an engineer. I see this clearly in most of the students at my CC who are just getting by (Cs and Bs) in all the engineering/math/physics classes. Thanks grade inflation. Unsurprisingly they will just go on to the Cal states like CSUN but who knows what the job prospects look like for engineers there. To be a successful engineer is a whole other story though. </p>

<p>Well, I have stuck with it and so far I have no regrets but you need to be determined. I am not going to lie, some days I like it, some days I dislike it immensely, some days I freaking hate it but I know I am never going to give up.</p>
<p>I have definitely become a better person since I started but it is not fun by any means. What keeps me going is the fact that I like IE and I like being challenged but I can totally understand why people change majors. Most “normal” people would not want to go through what we go through.</p>
