im planning to apply to transfer WITHOUT tag, as well as on my own (without a counselor)

it seems like at some cc's, students have to fill out igetc verification forms after they're accepted. is this the case for all schools? I just assumed that the admissions committee would look at the classes taken themselves to see if you fulfilled IGETC, and that was that

???

Your CCC verifies IGETC, not the UC. So yes, after you are accepted you will have your CCC certify IGETC when you are sending transcripts to the one you’re going to enroll in.

Do you need help with something on your application?

But I thought finishing IGETC was a huge factor in getting admitted? What’s the point of verifying it AFTEr acceptance?

is the verification an automatic thing or will my cc have me come in and fill out some paperwork?
The only reason I was asking was I was planning on making this whole process as independent as I could but now it seems I’ll have to go into counseling office anyway lol

Thanks :)

Well, you should know whether or not you will be meeting IGETC by the end of Spring. Your CCC will have a page outlining the requirements for meeting IGETC and what classes will fulfill those requirements. Are you unsure whether or not you will meet it for some reason?

no, im sure i will be meeting IGETC requirements. what im wondering is if im going to be officially called into the counseling office to sign some form to verify the IGETC or if it’s just going to be automatic

im trying to google if my school has such a form and i can’t find it (but i know other schools have one).

You will have to fill out a form. But you don’t have to right now. After you meet all of the requirements, you can ask them to certify you. On the UC application all you have to do is check off the IGETC box when you’re applying. They take your word for it. If you check it off and end up not completing it for some reason, then you could be in trouble.
