Do you need to know formulas for Chem?

<p>I was wondering if you needed to memorize the chemical formulas and chemical names. For example...sulfuric acid is H2SO4. I know I could memorize it but I am craming right now so if it is unnecessary and they will always give you the formula that would be great.</p>

<p>Please let me know if you have taken the ACTUAL test before and can give accurate info.</p>

It's been a year since I took it so I forgot what they're called
memorize things like (you can probably find a list online)
sulfate
sulfite
nitrate
nitrite
peroxide
ammonia
hydroxide
oxide
pemangenate (sp?)
etc.</p>
