Do you need to send in H.S. Transcripts when transferring? im only a freshman but i was just wondering if you need to..the reason is because i transferred in the middle of my senior year in HS and graduated there...do u guys think the school I graduated from would still have my transcript? they inputted my previous grades from 9th-11th grade so i guess im ok..but would like to double check..so i just wanted to clarify on those 2 things..

Yes you have to send high school transcripts AFTER you are accepted though. It doesn’t matter when you graduated either. It could be 2 or 10 years ago, you still need to send your transcripts, high school and college, to the UCs once they accept you.

^wrong. only if you took AP classes, as in you are trying to get UC credit for classes you took in high school. I wasn’t trying to get credit for classes I took in high school so UCLA said I did not need to send high school transcripts

^ oh wierd, maybe, any how I’m certain they would only request HS transcripts if you were claiming UC credit from courses you took in HS. Otherwise I’m pretty sure you are in my boat OP

It was in my contract to send my high school transcripts, but I was not claiming any credit from high school, not even for my foreign language requirement. From the UC website it does state that all transcripts (including high school) will be required, however.

The interesting thing being, though, that my portal never showed sending my high school transcripts as a “to do” item, only my college transcripts. But the high school one was indeed still required.

It’s better to be prepared so I would recommend contacting your old high school (the one you graduated from) to inquire about what would be reflected on a transcript from them.

you used HS to satisfy LOTE. IE, you took some foreign language requirements
or
you used HS to satisfy AH&I (American history and institutions). IE, you took (1 year of HS US History) or (1/2 year US History and 1/2 year US Gov’t).

That’s why they sometimes ask for it. A majority of people who went to a CA High School can satisfy (2). Note that (2) is a graduation requirement for all UCs.

I was accepted to UCSD last year and had to send my HS transcripts, even though I graduated high school in 2001 and had no classes that satisfied any of their requirements (in fact i barely graduated high school)
