Got the inspiration to start this thread after watching one of Jenna Marbles' videos.
She has a video on "How to trick people into thinking you're good looking," and she first appears without makeup.

I think she looks waaaaaay prettier without than with it.

In general, that's what I think about women: I prefer them coming natural.

What about y'all brothers? Do ya prefer dem ladies with or without makeup?
(Girls who like other girls are welcome to express their opinions, too).

I’ve seen that video too, and I think she looks better without makeup. I think she was trying to mock those who do use that much makeup. As a guy, I prefer the more natural look. Using a bit of makeup is ok, but I hate when girls go over the top.

Depends on the girl. My girlfriend doesn’t need makeup. <3

My boyfriend hates when I put on makeup (especially when he can see me put it on)!

make up, in small doses, can be a beautiful thing. nothing wrong with a little “touch up” to one’s own natural look

make up, in large doses, can work wonders. this is a good thing and all, since it might boost a girl’s self-esteem. And hey, they look nice … until you wake up next to the person one morning when their makeup is removed. Well, then you might wanna reconsider.

In the end, 100% bare is the best. if a girl never starts wearing makeup in the first place, you’ll never be able to tell when she’s with or without it on. Anyone who can pull that off is one hell of a girl, and hopefully very attractive!

I think it really depends on the girl like MissGen said.

I’m a girl and really don’t wear any. We weren’t allowed to wear any at my middle school (some girls anyway though…), so I never got in the habit. I agree with stealthyscholar - not getting in the habit was so good because now I don’t even think about it. But I am guilty occasional fondation/coverup to take away some of the redness from any pimples or breakouts.

I didn’t wear any to homecoming dances or prom. I will admit, I did feel a little “naked” next to some of the other girls who were wearing so much. I’ve told my boyfriend before that I don’t wear any, but for some reason I don’t think he believes me haha? I think he’s convinced every girl wears makeup so clearly I’m just lying?

I’m not a fan of heavy makeup. Definitely looks better to go natural. The entire concept of putting such weird substances around my eyes freaks me out. I do theater and it’s always strange to see myself in so much makeup.

Plus I just don’t know how to use eyeliner haha.

I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who prefers ladies w/o makeup.
Amen.

I feel that girls should not have to mask their beauty behind make up. If they knew the ingredients in them, I bet they would stop wearing it. But it is all for beauty…

The funny thing is that we, guys, don’t have any tricks to hide our blisters or whatever idk, and yet we get to have girlfriends, hooks up, wives, etc.

Women should learn something from us.

Not to sound chauvinistic or anything, but ultimately this is the truth: There are girls that look good with no makeup, and most of these girls look good with a little bit of makeup. No girl looks good with too much makeup (a little goes a long way) and many girls are unattractive with OR without makeup…

I started wearing makeup at the beginning of my ninth grade year, I think. I used to wear more. I’d wear foundation and lip gloss a lot, even though I didn’t need either. I could probably use foundation now, but it’s actually typically bad for your skin, so…either have obviously teenager skin or have slightly covered up teenager skin with long-term increased teenager skin.
I also hate lip gloss now. Can’t stand the feel of it. Can’t imagine being a guy and having to kiss that.
I wear mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow now. The eyeshadow is purely an artistic thing–I like colors. But I never wear too much of it. The mascara and eyeliner are…because I don’t really like how I look without it. Unless my bangs are pulled back. Then I look much better without eyeliner because it looks weird.
I guess I’m just not very confident without it. My boyfriend encourages me to leave it off, though, so I’m working on that. He does like for me to enhance myself with it sometimes, though. He seems to think I’m pretty either way.

Ultimately, I think a girl with bad/too much makeup will look much worse than any girl with no makeup.

Just a little bit.

Like stated above, it depends on the girl. :)

I don’t like the “hussy” look, but a bit of normal makeup just makes good better.

To me makeup is like cologne. DONT OVERUSE IT!

It depends on if a girl knows how to put it on or not and whether she’s smart enough to know the difference between a night look and a day look.
Don’t wear black eyeliner and red lipstick to school, you can wear that to dinner with your boyfriend or to a party. School is the time for neutral browns and clear gloss. It’s just part of a wardrobe…you wear heels to a party, but not to school. COMMON SENSE… unless you wanted to look like a whore?!?

Little bit because you can’t look the best everyday.

Without. I’m somewhat of a feminist - why should guys expect girls to wear makeup when girls don’t expect guys to?
