<p>I’ve heard of it. We beat you in basketball in the NIT this year and Justin Knox decided to come play basketball for us after bama told him he couldn’t transfer to UAB. But, I think a good assumption is that state schools are generally good enough to get you into med school somewhere.</p>

<p>Sorry about the confusion. I’m just wondering if UAB’s medical school is well-known to those wishing to enter medical school. Like it’s not like a college that everyone knows such as Harvard and UPenn, you know? But i want to know if its generally known as a decent/ good medical school</p>
<p>Since there are only ~130 allopathic med schools, in a sense they all are well-known. And yes, it is ‘decent/good’; and even better if you are instate!</p>
<p>So don’t you all think it’s a good idea for me to attend uab (if I get accepted) medical school than another “prestigious” medical school since I will be going into practice and I get to pay less for uab since I am instate?</p>
<p>Instate rates are GREAT! Nothing wrong with that kind of decision.</p>
