do you really need Physics as one of the 4 yr HS science requirements?

For the Tier I colleges/universities, most require 4 years of HS science. Wants to major in the sciences (bio/med/chem but not engineering). Anyone knows if physic is a required course or if the colleges only care if you have 4 years of science (H Bio, H Chem, AP bio, AP chem, etc.)? Not crazy about Physic, especially the mechanic stuff.

Will taking Physic help my chances?

You should be fine. If you wanted to go into engineering, I would have said you would be screwed, because that is what physics is. Taking those courses is also great for what you plan to do. I am just warning you though that for any science major, colleges require you do take their intro physics course. Taking it in high school is a BIG help, and boost to your transcript. I took it, and I recommend it.

I was also worried about this. Our high school physics class is an absolute joke, and I didn't want to waste my time learning NOTHING just to have it on a transcript.

I am taking H physic, but concern that I will not be able to make an A (maybe a B if I work really hard). I still have time to drop it or change to another class. I know that it will need the foundation for my freshman physic, but I am worry that it will bring down my overall HS GPA.

I ended up dropping Honors physics when I took it and moved to the college-prep version. Heck, even someone who eventually got accepted to Harvard moved with me, and I had a higher grade than him!
