<p>The Robert C Byrd Honors Scholarship is a federally funded scholarship that is administered by each state. I don’t believe essays are required. In CA, determination is made based on your SAT score combined with your GPA. Here is a link to the federal website which will link you with your state site.

<p>It’s amazing how much the requirements for this scholarship vary by state. In Texas the most difficult item on the application is saying in what congressional district you live.</p>
