I have a somewhat difficult decision to make...
I'm applying early decision to a University. Admission decisions are released on the 15th of December. I have pictured being at home when I receive the decision, as I'm sure most students do. I'm in Model United Nations at my school and a few of us are planning on going to Paris to attend a conference in the UNESCO building. Sounds incredible, right? The dates of the trip are December 7th to December 17th. Decisions: 15th. Day Back: 17th.
Do I really want to be overseas when I get my admission decision? no. Whether it is positive or negative is beside the point. However, one of my teachers really wants me to go and my parents really want me to go as well...I really want to be at home to receive my admission...Any advice or an opinion would be GREATLY appreciated.

I don’t think it should matter all that much whether you are at home or in Paris when you hear of the decision.

Better yet, wait until you are home to find out! Sounds like it would be an amazing trip so don’t forgo it.

Go to france.

Contrary to popular belief, seeing an admissions decision as soon as it comes out will not change the decision. Neither will the location of learning said decision change that decision. Enjoy your trip and worry about the decision when you get back (which is only TWO days later).

My trepidation is caused also in part by homesickness…

Il serait certainement plus judiscieux de partir en France. :p

Je crois que tu dois aller a la France; tu vas t’amuser beaucoup :)

All the more reason to GO.

Ok, wait a minute. You plan to go to college several states away from your home, and you have such an issue with homesickness that you are worried about going to FRANCE for 10 days?

I see trouble on the horizon.

^haha…I realized just how ridiculous that sounded after I posted it…

I haven’t gotten homesick while on a trip in over four years or so…I just worry that homesickness could be an issue when I’m on a separate continent and home isn’t less than a 3-hour plane flight away…

Haha, that seems to be the general consensus :)

Go to France! C’est incroyable. :)

Seriously, thogh, it’s an incredible opportunity and you’ll receive the news either way…does it really matter if you’re in France or America when you get it?
