Just curious.

In my personal opinion, I’m not sure when adcoms would have time to scour CC while dealing with 32,000 applications.

^ That’s what I thought, too. However, I have read some posts where people seem to think that they do. So I was just curious.

They’re aware of CC and have poked their heads in here from time to time. None of them post, and they’re not on here to try and match up applicants or anything like that. A big portion of their job is knowing how to “pitch” Brown-- what are the perceptions and do they match reality? This is just one of many ways they can gauge that.

I know they do.

CC has implanted itself into the collective consciousness of the admissions community and when thousands of applicants (for whom this is all a one-time thing) find their way here each year, it’s a little hard to believe that an admissions committee will not. That said, it would be unethical for the admissions committee to make any sort of judgment based on what an applicant says here (except in the event of unbecoming conduct) and I think admissions officers do respect that unspoken principle pretty well.
