As in, for example, quarter grades in freshman year. You know how they combine with your final exam or midterm for the ending grade that goes into your GPA and everything... because I got either a D or F in English this last quarter. Beyond horrible, I know. I'm hoping I can salvage my chances some how. I'm realistic about which colleges I can get into... so if I have an upward trend of my grades for the rest of high school do you think they'll let it slide a little? Thanks.

Usually a school will send semester grades, not quarter grades.

Unless your school does it differently, you should be able to salvage it if you did well on other parts of your semester grade.

Probably not quarter grades.

Yeah, my school doesn't even send semester grades to colleges...only the final grades. Some schools don't even look at freshman grades: check those out. You'll be alright.

I know most colleges only compute your GPA for core academic courses and AP courses.

Same. I feel kinda guilty having a 4.0 with a few B's on my transcript. :/
