Hi, I am a student in my sophomore year in hs that wishes to go to NYU in 2018.

Freshmen year grades for core subjects

biology- A-
us history 1- B+
world literature- B+
algebra 2- B+
french - A-

Sophomore year grades so far

Geometry - B
US history 2- A-
American literature 1- A
French 2- A
Chemistry - A-
Physics- A-

(I am planning on bringing my averages up to all A’s at the end of this year, I slacked freshman year which explains the low grades)

Sophomore year I am also self studying for AP Psychology and the SAT Biology subject test along with SAT US history Subject test.

I also take college credited courses after school which shows initiative, I am also taking more over the summer.

statistics and probability
color theory/art history
criminal justice

I am also doing an internship at my medical center and I am getting a job during the summer at the movie theater.

I am also getting certified in first aid and cpr as an emt, and getting 32+ college credit from the medical science program,

junior year I plan on self studying for sat subject test for literature as well as ap environmental science and statistics or macroeconomics.

I am also taking ap biology/chemistry and ap us history

I will also do other extra circulars and multiple hours of community service.

I am in key club
chess club
stock market club
student council

i am going to join more extra cirriculars

senior year I will take and ap science and ap government and ap calculus.

I will also aim for a near perfect score on the sat.

You have a decent shot but you shouldn’t worry about it yet. You might change your mind, I wanted to go to Penn State my Sophomore year and now it’s not even in my top ten. Don’t sweat it and getting a ‘near perfect score on the sat’ isn’t likely, get past a 1900 and you’re set. Take the ACT too, just in case. That’s one thing I regretted.

Without a GPA or Test Scores we can’t really chance you, but you’re on the right track.

gpa so far is a 3.58, this is just from my core courses, I pretty sure it will increase from ap’s and other classes i will take. If i keep up A’s this entire year, ill have a 3.76
