Okay so about that.....made it up to get you to read this. sorry

My real question:

What kind of SAT score would I need to make up for my horrible GPA to get into UCI or UCR? My UC GPA is 3.5 and I want to take the SAT again. So what do I need to get into either school? I think I'm safe for UCR but what about UCI? I'm limiting myself to these schools b/c I want to stay local. UCLA is out of my range anyway.

2050-2100 should be fine.... but maybe i'm wrong. You should be fine though. Kids from my school get in with similar gpas and we're out of state.

many universities state that an oustanding GPA will overshadow a mediocre test score and that an outstanding TEST score will not overshadow a mediocre GPA

do the 2 universities i listed fall under that?

bump

^I'll second mayiplzgovertigo. Friend (in-state) had a 3.4 and 2170, rejected at UCI. You're fine at UCR though.

*** you serious? should i even bother then?

That's really lame.

I know a kid who had a sub 1400 SAT score and a 3.9 UC GPA and got in. A 1400 SAT score is like sub 500 each section. Doesn't make any sense.

And my friend about 3 years ago on the old SAT got like a 1080 and a 3.6 UC GPA and got in.

A few months ago I saw a 3.6/1910 get rejected.

It won't hurt to try (unless the $60 is super important or something) - just don't get your hopes too high.

i know a 3.5/1970 that is a sophomore this year at UCI.

I guess it comes down to the essay and EC's then because I made a topic a while ago and people with 3.3's and 1900's got in.
