do you think i can get into UCSB?

Mexbruin guy should ignore SB at all:D
UCSB is kind of weird in selection, I knew someone who was rejected by SB and accepted by LA too.

Compare with my major, 66 units is a small #. Most people have at least over 80 units. 100+ units people are not rare too.
Almost every course in my major is 5- semester-unit-course. That's really sucks.

Also, the only way you'll get in is if you show that you're capable of getting As....If you get only few As and mostly Bs and Cs you won't get in as the adcom will have a doubt you'll succeed at UCSB. While they understand your situation they know you'll be admitted to a CSU campus so they will likely reject you. Last thing they want is another college drop out because of low grades. Also I think the Econ Dept has a 2.7 GPA cut off for BusEcon prerequisites-Acctng,Stats, Micro/Macro, Calculus. It's the weeder for BusEcon... Get A's!!! That's my advice.

About 20 to 25 of my units are csu transfer. the 66 is only uc transfer. yeah that does suck that you have a lot of 5 unit courses. Mexbruin said something about a unit cap. I don't know too much about it tho.

Shirley what is your major. have you heard from ucsb yet.

Maybe he should choose UCR. Transfer applicant is 50% less than the other schools. Plus, UCR has business major.

My major is biochemistry. I didn't apply for ucsb, cuz they need four 5-unit courses of physics, and 5 math courses, which include three clac, linear algebra, differenital equations. The courseS they need are even more than UCLA. I have enough from all the calc courses. So I gave up SB.

Also, I heard from the business/econ major people said that some CSU's like CSUN are ok for these majors. But I'm not sure about it.

Someone mentioned a tag agreement but I dont believe those work for business majors. Business is an impactd major at all the UC's I have looked at so they can't guarantee admission. If this is not true let me know but I am pretty positive there is no guaranteed admission in to a business major.

I got into UCSB as a math major with a 2.9 GPA. Oh and I think I had like 86 units.

csuf has a great biz program but I would still shoot for a UC.

What are the most impacted majors at UCSB? I want to double major in Organic Chem and Pharmacology. I will have well over 100+ units before transfering with an a GPA above 3.5. Is it easier to get into the chemistry department or the biological premajor at UCSB? Which major should I intitially apply for?
