Do you think I can raise my score into the 2000's?

OK so I took the SAT for the first time in June and I really didn't do very well

Composite:1700
M:620
CR:490
W:590 (11 essay)

I was pretty surprised by how I did, esspecially on critical reading, I'm always good at reading and comprehension. So my question is do you think its possible to get my score up to at least 2000? If anyone has done this can you tell me how you did it? and if anyone has some specific ideas about how to better prepare for each specific subject I would love to hear! Thanks!

check out xiggi's method.

yea you def could, just study alot and try to be consistent with what you study. btw good job on the essay.

The writing is the easiest. Simply read a grammar book, understand the material, and up goes 200 points.

I got my Writing from a 600 to an 800.

lol i found raising my math the easiest^

u soo could trust me...when I initially took my first SAT practice test, I had scores rite abt wut you have...but after studying and i still am im doing ALOT better trust me....get the review books, study the grammar rules, study the math rules, and memorize vocab im sure u can do it...

GOOD LUCK!

I went up by about 300 points in the course of a summer.

Yes!
it is very possible.
I started out with scores lower than you, about 1500 when i was 14.
Two days ago, i did a practise test at a SAT testing prep centre and scored 2000.
Just do past SAT tests and understand why you made the mistakes you made.
For maths, i studied subjects i havent covered yet at school like function graphs....
For CR, i read articles, the newspaper and magazines which really helped.
For writing, it was about grammar and knowing the types of mistakes that are the most common and typical e.g misplaced modifiers, faulty diction, tense...etc

Good luck!

By the way, I'm 15 now, nearly 16. Which means i raised my score by 500 in 1 1/2 years.
So, dont worry about it too much. It was only a first attempt.
