Do you think I could get in any UC schools?

Hi.
My brother and I both toured literally every college in California. We drove over 2,000 miles, and I found my dream school. My brother transfered from Stevens to Chapman University, and I am currently a Senior in highschool. I fell in love many of the schools, and UCSB was my favorite. I would be absolutely devastated to not get in.
Here are my statistics:

Do you think I can get into most UC schools? (UCSB especially)

Since you are out of state, costs to attend a UC will be quite high, in the $50k/year range. There is limited aid for out of state students. You’ll want to talk with your parents to see if they are able to afford this (along with the possibility of a fifth year, since some majors are impacted and course availability can be limited).

You’ll need to calculate your UC GPA, using UC’s so-called A-G requirements. UC only considers your sophomore and junior year grades. OOS students may weight only AP courses, not honors. One of the things that trips up many out of state applicants is UC’s Visual and Performing Arts requirement of a year-long course in a visual or performing art. The minimum UC GPA for out of state applicants is 3.4

UCSB lists the following on their “Quick Facts” off of the Admissions page using the UC GPA:

An alternate path to UCSB is to enroll at Santa Barbara City College, which provides both a residential experience and a well-established transfer pathway to UCSB for your junior and senior years.

I believe that the official UC criteria for OOS admission is a 3.5 min GPA, but check out the admissions page to be sure.

I have heard that UCM and UCR may not be as strict in adhering to that but I have no personal knowledge if that is true

The costs I can cover, as for the GPA, I am really hating myself for that. I always get 90’s on my tests, but I never do my homework. Ahhh! If I did my homework my grades would be 3.7+. If only I could go back in time…

If UCSB is really your dream school and you happen not to get in, don’t fret as you have other options. A lot of people who don’t get in sign up for Santa Barbara City College and after 2 years of coursework, they transfer to UCSB. The cool thing is that you can live and party with all the UCSB students in IV while going to Santa Barbara City College, which is significantly cheaper.

Thank you for your response.

I’d stay in NJ if I were you. UC out-of-state fees makes it similar to tuition at Ivy leagues.

My family is moving to California anyways, and I am lucky enough to be able to afford California tuition. My older brother and my cousin go to school at Chapman University, which also makes me want to go to California with them. And also… I LOVE California!
