<p>I am a sophomore at Emory University and want to transfer out...</p>

<p>college:
I have a GPA of 3.976 in college
I am an Econ Major and Pre-med
I am the President of a prestigious organization
I volunteered in a community outreach program at a hospital in a developing country
I have outstanding letter of recommendations
I shadowed a neurologist/neurosurgeon/cardiologist this past summer
I am an Eagle scout
I have been on the Deans list 3 semesters in a row</p>

<p>high school: (I don't know if this matters)
I got a 30 on my ACTs
I took 18 AP tests...received a 4 or 5 on eight of them</p>

<p>Don’t worry, you’lll transfer out to a great college university.
I’m applyin to a UC, but my friend from elementary school really wants to go to UCSB. Her GPA is 3.5 weighted, 1800 sats, 630, 650, 700 on sat 2s (math 2, lit, and history) and has a bunch of EC’s. she is very smart but she had major health problems during her sophomore year. she wrote about it in her essay too.
what do you think her chances are?</p>

<p>good stats but transferring will be harder than if you were trying to get in as a freshman so I’d say you have a shot but probably not much of one at the upper tier ivies</p>

<p>don’t know too much about transfers but i think you have a great shot considering you have a great gpa at emory. will be hard to transfer as a sophomore though.</p>

<p>def, i think transfering is easier than freshman, u come from a top school with great gpa, its like switching from yale to harvard…almost…</p>

<p>It helps that you’re a freshman in college and chanced me. : )</p>

<p>Your GPA is really, really good, and it’s from Emory, too. Your extracurriculars sound really solid, the dean’s list is impressive, that you’re still an Eagle Scout is good, too, and 18 APs wow.</p>

<p>I just got my PSAT back and got a 205 and missed national merit. However, I got a 2270 on the SAT as a sophomore and took it again last saturday and think I got 2300+. Will colleges care if I missed national merit (I muffed the writing section by missing 5 of the last 10 questions)? By the way, I have a great GPA, many APs, and great extracurriculars.</p>

<p>you should be good to go…colleges love 2300+ SAT scores…I am pretty sure that those kind of scores are perfect for the top schools…you will be good to go even with a bad GPA but yours looks great…good luck</p>

<p>I think Duke and Rice are your best matches!</p>

<p>With a 3.9 at Emory, with your leadership skills as well, I don’t see why the other schools should give you too much trouble. But I still think your best bets are Duke and Rice. Duke and Rice are often compared to Emory as “equivalent” schools.</p>

<p>I am curious, though. Why do you want to transfer out of Emory? If I won’t like Emory when I get there, I shouldn’t be worried about Oxford of Emory, eh?</p>
