Do you think I have any chances of getting into a decent business school?

I was planning to apply for Marketing/Business Administration in states. However, I feel that my scores are pretty low. I do not have a cumulative GPA and my 9th and 10th grade school follows a different system (so basically i don't have a GPA for these two years but I have something called the average percentage instead).

My 11th Grade GPA is 3.38
My SAT is only 1400
I also did the IGCSE and scored good grades

I have a lot of leadership positions, sports and community service.

I wanted to know if I have any chance of getting into the following schools?
1. University of Washington (both Seattle and Bothell)
2. Penn State
3. Michigan State
4. Emory University
5. UC San diego
6. Northeastern U.
7. Purdue U.

Thank you :)

1400 out of 2400? All those schools are out of reach.

i know that it’s very low (i didn’t study for it at all, never even practiced. dk why i took it.)
I just took it once again and I’m pretty sure I can get higher. Maybe 1500 +
Can you suggest some schools you think i CAN get into?

Speak to your HS guidance counselor. He/She can direct you to school choices for kids of similar academic achievement. Without your next SATs, no one can help you. Maybe also try to take the ACT. And you’re only hurthing yourself if you don’t go in without some extra prepping. Your 1400 = 38% percentile of SAT test takers. i.e. 62% of people in the world scored better than you – you can’t then realistically hope to get into competitive or, in your def’n “good” schools.

Even 1500 puts you roughly at the 50th percentile. You need to prep some more. Frankly you probably need to drop some of your ECs (leadership, comm svc, sports) if that time is better spent on your GPA and test prep. None of the schools you’ll likely be targeting will reward you for any of your ECs – they’ll be laser focused on your GPA and test scores.

Also, what schools can your family afford? That’s a big consideration too. Some on your list are about $50K /year.

Good luck to you
