I’ve been saying since I was three that I wanted to. My dad and sister went. I’m entering freshman year this year, and need advice, and perspective on my chance of getting in. I know colleges don’t see anything before high school, but to give you an idea about me, I’m taking geometry, which is mostly tenth graders, this year, and graduated eighth grade with a 3.98 unweighted gpa. I won the principals award at graduation, along with the writing award and graduating Magna Cum Laude, as well as getting into Junior National Honor Society. In addition to JNHS in terms of high school activities I can put on my resume, I was my class ambassador for the state conference of young leaders, and am doing summer courses at MIT. For classes next year, I am doing Alg 2 honors, honors bio, honors English, honors world history, and honors psych. I plan on running for class officers, doing Model UN, math team, and my friend and I have gotten permission to start a school debate club next year. I also do recreational dance and am on my way to earning my blue belt (2 away from black) in karate. I know it sounds like a lot, but I’ve been doing this many activities and classes my whole life and have always managed.
I want to double major in psychology and marketing, and minor in economics and statistics. Notre Dame is the best in all of these. I want to continue on to get and MBA, and work in marketing and the fashion industry and use advertisements for clothing and teenage products to try to overcome negative body dismorphia in teenage girls. I myself have suffered from an eating disorder, and would like to help other girls avoid it, despite society’s apparent pushing for it. I have received unsolicited informational mail from them and many other colleges because of my standardized test scores.
I know it is early for thinking about all of this, but I like to plan ahead. Please tell me honestly how likely you think it is for me to get in, and what I can do to improve to ensure it.
Thanks so much!!
