Do you think I would get in?

<p>I am applying to college this fall and I wanted to apply early decision to the School of Human Ecology within Cornell. But, if it is clear I wouldn't get in, I don't want to waste my early decision opportunity. Here are a few of my stats and extracurriculars-- </p>

<p>GPA: 4.29 in top 10% of class
SAT: Math- 760
Verbal- 650
Writing- 720</p>

<p>Volunteer/Work:
Babysit (3 hours/week)
Volunteer at PETCO
Work at a daycare center soph-senior year
Volunteer at Camp Sunshine for a month (working with disabled children)
Vice President of Project Interact(community service club)</p>

<p>Sports/Music:
Soccer(Varsity junior and senior year)
Maroons Soccer Club
Piano Lessons(for past 10 years)
-Superior rating three times in Pompton Lakes Music Festival</p>

<p>Honors/Clubs:
National Honors Society
Spanish Honors Society
Officer in Spanish Club
Yearbook Club
1 0f 3 juniors nominated for NCTE Writing Award</p>

<p>There is more, but I'll leave it at the basics. I'd appreciate any thoughts...positive or negative. Thanks!</p>

<p>Verbal's weak and EC's not distinctive, but if you are in-state and Cornell HumEc is your definite first choice, I think you have a good shot. Why would you apply ED to a school to which you really don't want to go?</p>

<p>The in-state thing doesn't make a difference. Can you retake SATs to get verbal up? Also, Cornell will look hard at the courses you've taken. Are they the most challenging available? My impression with Cornell is that this counts for a lot.</p>

do you take any AP classes cause you will have better chance of gettting to Cornell with a lot of AP classes</p>

<p>I'm not in-state...I'm from New Jersey. I do want to go to Cornell, but I wouldn't want to go through the application process if it was definite I wouldn't get in. If there is a little bit of a chance, I would still apply early decision.</p>

<p>I think your SAT's are fine.</p>

<p>You are most lacking in your EC's, as they seem like nothing out of the ordinary. You can definintely get in ED with a good application.</p>

had few friends check it over many times
and since cornell use the common application you can use it for other school
i did
just remember to change the names of school in our essay</p>
