Do you think I'll get into Wharton?

I would be extremely grateful to anyone who takes the time to read this through! :)

Do you think I'll get into Wharton? Please be realistic!! And would ED help my chances?

This is my r

if your background is real (pretty unbelievable for your success level) then you are guaranteed entrance. Focus essays on overcoming adversity. Extra points for using the word “resilience” since that’s the big thing with pennStart (a pre-orientation online course; don’t worry about it).

^ Thank you!! “resilience” is exactly the word I was looking to add in my essays, you really hit the spot there.

And yes my background is real haha. I hope it doesn’t seem too exaggerated, I want to appear credible. For example, I still don’t know whether to use the word “homeless” or not… people tell me it’s the true and technical term, but I feel it gives an image of living under the freeway?

Hey I’m from Irvine too! Northwood High. The median family income here is over $100k. How do you guys even afford housing?

Anyways, I’m impressed and I wish you the best of luck. It would be cool if we both get in to Wharton!

Haha sorry I don’t live there, I was visiting for a few weeks… I’m back in Utah now, but we’re looking to move anyway. Although It would still be cool if we both got into Wharton! :)

Serious respect for the hardships you’ve had to deal with, but don’t be complacent with those scores. They’re kind of meh for Wharton. But I do hope that Penn really hears your story and sees something in you. Good luck!

I think you have a good shot because yr someone who rose above all odds and accomplished a lot. u should be very proud of yrself. i also think that yr story could really help w/ college essays. best of luck. yr almost there.

thanks for the replies everyone

also, will ED significantly improve my chances for wharton?

Best of luck my friend. Your story is very unique and I hope Wharton/Penn/ wherever you apply, realizes what you’ve been through. Best of luck!

Hey man, I wish you good luck. You definitely should improve those SAT scores. Also, I would highly recommend you take SAT II Math II (and get an 800 :X). ED should help your chances… but I’m not sure how the Questbridge thing works

listen, yr story is really interesting and I don’t think you should waste yr money on more sats. They are really 2 low for penn but u have a pretty amazing story.

and, yes, ed would improve your chances.

good luck. (i think yr dad would be really proud)

^ thanks everyone for the replies :)

AP Scores I just got back:
AP Psychology: 5
AP French: 5
AP US History: 4

You forgot to write about how you walked 15 miles in the snow to return a book. I think it was “Self Reliance” by Emerson. I hope that was a big car you slept in so there was plenty of room for your ego.

That was rather rude…
What have I done to you?
