The University of Pennsylvania (nursing) is my dream school, so of course I really want to get in… But I’ve looked through the other threads and people have over 20 ECs, and GPAs over 4.5, and there are people saying that they won’t get in. So I’m assuming I don’t have much of a chance, but if you could give me your opinion that would be really helpful!
Oh, I’m also going into my junior year of high school.
Here’s all my academic info:
- Unweighted GPA of 3.92
- Weighted GPA of 4.48
- Class rank of 20/228
- All but one of my core classes have been honors, all future core classes should also be honors
- I’ve taken 1 AP class so far, but I expect to take at least 3 more
- My senior year, I hope to be accepted into my school’s nursing assistant program (where we spend 3 periods working at the local hospital)
- My PSAT score was 1200 (92nd percentile) on the new scale
- According to College Board, my estimated SAT score is around 1390 on the new scale
- I plan on taking two SAT subject tests in the future (chem and bio)
My Extra Curricular info:
- I’ll be in color guard for 3 years (plus I’m currently the section leader)
- I’ll be in winterguard for 4 years (I’ll most likely become captain my senior year)
- I’ll be in the Interact club for 4 years (with a possible leadership position my senior year)
- I currently have 40 hours of community service, but I’m going to start volunteering at the animal shelter in the winter
I know that it isn’t super great… But I plan on applying early admission to improve my chances.
If there’s anything I can do that will help me get in, I’d love to know.
Thanks in advance for any feedback!
