I do not have my grades in yet but I am wondering if its worth applying transfer with such a GPA. I do realize that there are people who have 4.0s but I am assuming there are differences in schools. my school is pretty competitive (in top 20) and even "introductory" level classes are not so introductory....

bump…

What school?

to the School of Foreign Service, from Emory.

possibly. Emory is great school and a challenging one, at that. Gtown should recognize that a 3.5 at Emory is still somewhat impressive, regardless; however, I still think your acceptance is uncertain. It’s still worth a shot though!

^well, nothing is really certain in admissions but sometimes you just have to give up I guess… I just was not sure whether I had a reason to. I do have 33 ACT and 1/360 rank in HS but that will probably make little to no difference.

My friend that attends SFS had a highschool gpa of 2.3 and a college GPA from Pace U of 3.5 and got in as a transfer, so don’t fret =)

^Oh, that is interesting. Did she/he have anything amazing that got her/him in? I did end up with a higher GPA than 3.5 and I do have a much higher HS GPA than your friend but I am still afraid. There must have been something…
