Do you think my scores are acceptable?

Chem: 700
Math II : 720

ACT: 28
SAT: 580 R 690 M 680 W
PS: out of state (NY)

Hate to break it, but no. Unless you have like a 3.9 or 4.0 gpa and stellar ec’s. Try for a 2000 or 30+

^How about my SAT II scores???

your sat II’s wont single handedly get you in, if i remember correctly michigan doesnt req. them. but im not sure. your stats arent horrible, just make sure you emphasize your extracurriculars and if you have a high gpa that will help too. my sat was lower than yours so its not a lost cause.

Michigan puts little to no emphasis on SAT 2s, and ur scores are average to below average for most students.

UM doesnt really look at SAT II scores really. Your ACT score is MUCH more important…try and get that to a 30+.

You can get in with an ACT score of 28 but it would depend on the rest of your application. The GPA and course rigor will be more important.

ok. truthfully no one can really judge solely by ur test stats. if everything else is good. u have a good shot  don’t let so many over achieving cc people get u down! good luck.

Yeah I got into Michigan for engineering and Illinois for Engineering with a 28 ACT, and engineering is one of the more competitive programs for both schools…so it can happen. Just make sure everything else in your app is as close to perfect as possible.

it would probably help to post some more stuff. your ec’s gpa etc etc. all you’ve given are test scores, and no school will really admit or reject you based on scores alone, unless they’re just god awful.

my stats =]

i think u’re fine! a good chance for sure!!
