Do you think that all of the decisions have been made?

Or do you think they are finishing up the last bunch in the next few days? I feel so anxious knowing that very likely my decision is already set in stone.... I just want it to be Friday so that I can know. I didn't really start feeling very nervous until today. It would be SO awesome to get in. :(

I would say, if anything, tomorrow would be the absolute last day for decision. Actually, that might not be the case because, if you applied for financial aid and you got in they have to give their Estimated Contribution. So for all applicants expected, this $ calculation process must take a while. So, im thinking, they are all done? Most probably financial aid calculations are probably going on now only…

that makes sense… I hope these next 3 days go by QUICKLY.

They probably have everything done by now. I don’t think they would be making decisions right up until the day before notifications come out.

Although they are done most decisions by now, they still will be going to committee tomorrow, probably to decide on applicants that are still on the cusp. I know that they typically spend the day before decisions go live (thursday) making sure all their distributions and statistics are strong. Dean Furda will announce to everyone the percent of females vs. males in each school and make sure that they are as even as possible and things of that nature. At that point, he may tell them to try and cut a few males from engineering or a few females from the college. That was all hypothetical, but that was the description my college counselor gave me when we spoke today.

Wow, it would really suck to be one of those few people who they initially admit and then weed out to keep numbers even. I really hope I’m not one of the girls weeded out from the college… of course no one would ever know they almost got in but then were cut, but still, it would suck, ha. :)

Yea, I guess ivy-league colleges don’t procrastinate like us until the last day to get their stuff in order :P

so if accepted, they will inform me about $$$ right away?

yes, it should be posted along with your decision I believe.

^ i hope so

Penn is need blind, right?

yeah penn is need blind

^not for internationals

My cousin applied to Tufts, and she was following their live blog. They were done with committee a few days ago, and they’re notifying December 15. Makes me think Penn has to have made all their decisions, but is now just finalizing

my understanding is that unlike high school students, admission committees don’t wait till the last day. It’s very likely that they finished all decisions even before December and left the huge time margin just in case the number of applications goes astronomical.

I don’t think they finished before December… because I believe I remember Penn stating that while they read applications early on, they don’t begin making official decisions until after Thanksgiving break.

…but yeah, I agree… it would be a little weird if Penn wasn’t done with decisions on the 9th of December… because they have to upload decisions online and deal with all of the FA stuff.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! Just a little over 2 more days!

Not possible that they finished before december. Till november 20th they are sorting all the materials then they had like a week off. They start around 25th-26th, I mean my SAT 2 scores were sent on 24th electonically and then like 27th-28th by post. No way that they could’ve reviewed my application without that ( and they did get it and processed it, which shows they did it after ). Plus I reember reading somewhere they start after 24th November. They might have probably finished by now though, but they start pretty late
