Hearing that a number of CC'ers have already been accepted to CAS by email arriving on the 10th, we're hoping that D still has a chance. A bit concerned that no news is bad news at this point. D is certainly well qualified and loves the school, but obviously they have a huge qualified pool. Does not having heard at this point imply rejection or wait list?

i did not get an email, i just got a letter in the mail. the letter was dated March 9. But i doubt that your D is for sure rejected...

Congrats hotpiece101! That's wonderful. Do you think you'll attend?

i have no idea if i will attend. i have to wait and hear from the rest of my RD schools, but washu is definitely near the top of the list.

and Good Luck to your D!!!

i have yet to hear aswell but it seems like they are just letting the people with insanely high stats know as of know, they have a record of doing this in the past. i think the majority of the decisions have yet to be released

well, there have been a rash of likely letters/ acceptance letters in my area.

My letter did explicitly say though that an official acceptance letter was coming later. Also all the likelies in my area (suburban detroit) that I know of made their way to minorities along with invitations to multicultural weekend.

so are they sending out likely letters or actual acceptance letters at this point???
i'm freaking out like the OP too because i've received no info from WashU since January.

my letter said.

this is an early notification of your acceptance. you should receive your formal acceptance letter sometime in the next few weeks.

so it's a likely letter. It was a single sheet along with a brochure for multicultural weekend, enclosed in a priority mail envelope.

I really hope that they have not sent out the bulk of decisions, Wash U is one of my top choices and I really want to get in. I don't think that they have sent out the bulk of decisions just because it is incredibly early and that I feel like there would be more posts on the site with acceptances and some with lower scores if that were the case.

Wash U is highly concerned about yield and ascending the ranks. Their ED I and ED II are testament to that. These likely letters are just a way to try to rope in those who are likely Ivy applicants. While on CC, it may seem like everyone's already gotten a likely letter, remember that this a forum for highly motivated students.

They won't have sent out the bulk of decisions already.

PhatAlbert, are you going to the multicultural weekend?

like i said on another thread, it looks like a lot of the early notifications are for internationals or for kids who are minorities, for the mulitcultural weekend thing. but i could be totally off.

Apparently I applied to Engineering, Olin, and CAS...
Could this seeming indecision have hurt me? I didn't get any notification yet either.

I applied to CAS, Engineering and Olin. My "indecision" apparently didn't matter because I got invited to the Multicultural Weekend and I'm not an URM.

i got one too.

I am international.

i'm getting vERY VERY worried... i hope its just because of the high standards of CC people that they are getting decisions early.... these must be early notification letters... DX

Ultimatemath, did u ask for Fin aid?

So did everybody who got this early notification get a multicultural invite? And if so, are you all of some other ethnicity?

what is CAS? also check you check your CAS decision online?

OK, just phoned WUSTL admissions and apparently the bulk of CAS acceptances have NOT gone out. I just spoke with the person who answers the phone and not an admissions officer, but she seemed pretty confident. No word on when the letters would, in fact, be sent though.
