Do you think that I can get into any of these schools? WILL CHANCE BACK

seriously? I know Emory isn’t on par, but Vanderbilt and Brown too? well thanks a lot for the advice- can I ask where u went?

Your chances are pretty slim at all of them. Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1437171-chance-me-trinity-will-chance-back-100-a.html#post15249204</a></p>

Well, I say the others are varying chances, but you’re probably at a low reach/high match for Rice, Vanderbilt and Emory. why did you stop spanish, and what happened junior year sports?

Also chance me please: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1435955-chance-me-final-college-list.html</a></p>

Your application is very strong - but if you have the time for it, you should strive to to boost your SAT or your ACT score. A 2010 can easily increase a few standard deviations with serious study.

Would appreciate a [chance back](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1435182-what-my-chances-resume.html).

I’m a 3 year graduate (I skipped junior year) and I really didn’t feel like taking Spanish because I only needed 2 credits to graduate

bumpppppppppppppppp

I would say low reach for most of these. Universities are pretty unpredictable though your standardized scores are lower than what most of these colleges are looking for I think your strong ECs will help you out a lot. I had a friend that got accepted to Vanderbilt with a bit higher SAT scores but not as strong ECs so you have a chance! Good luck!!!

what do u consider a bit higher? 100 points?

???

Duke (had a pretty nice interview, she was impressed with my ECs) - Yes and yes! You will get in, probably.

Rice - Probably but your sat score is low…

Vanderbilt - match

Washington University in St. Louis (they superscore ACT) - match

University of Pennsylvania- Wharton - Maybe, but again, your sat score is low…

Emory University - match

Brown University - again, maybe

University of Chicago- got deferred EA (deferred, so you should send them a letter telling them why you want to go there so badly, etc. keep your grades up, send in additional supplements)

thanks for the chance- although I have a feeling you might be a bit too optimistic about me

about Chicago I actually did send an email to the admissions officer saying that despite my decision, I am still very interested in attending Chicago. I have a few accomplishments that I got that I will also notify them about soon (National Social Studies Honor Society, wrestling accomplishments, etc.). Best part- I’m going to have straight As for my midyear report!!! So I really hope that will get me in

Do not send your SAT I scores to the schools that superscore the ACT…

In fact, I think I would omit your SAT I scores across the board. Your ACT scores are better! http://www.act.org/aap/concordance/pdf/reference.pdf</a></p>

I think Brown might look at highest subsection ACT scores too, not sure how to interpret this from their FAQ page:

How does Brown evaluate standardized tests?
We look at your test scores along with other information about your academic promise as we read your complete application. We do not attempt to assess test results in a formulaic way. If you have taken tests more than once, we concentrate on your highest scores. For the three components of the SAT, we focus on your best scores, regardless of the date you took the test. We do not calculate averages, nor do we look at the sum total of the components.

too late I already sent both  I mean I’m pretty sure that my scores can only benefit instead of hurt my chances

Yes, typically I think you will be evaluated in your best light :)) Don’t fret, and good luck!!! I think you have a good shot at Duke, especially!

thanks- I hope you’re right  I’ve applied to matches (Virginia, Boston College, USC, etc.) and Florida as my safety (Florida resident) but those 8 schools are among my dream schools (besides Emory)- if I got into any of those schools I would go insane!!!

Hmmmm…Vandy has ED2…

Yeah I know, but it’s too late I already turned in my app. I don’t want to be contracted to any school unfortunately just in case of any insane circumstances- (like getting into Harvard or something)

numppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

bump…
