This might not be a good idea, but just hear me out.

Lets say you take a class and p/np it because you think you aren't doing well in it. Only to find out at the end of the semester that you got an A or B (when you thought you were going to get a C). I think they should let you change it to a letter grade.

However, you can only do that. If you decide to keep the course on a letter grade, you can't change it to a p/np if you did bad.

Obviously, you can't do p/np for major classes.

Would this be a good idea? I was just thinking a bit about this as I am unsure whether to p/np a class I am taking right now haha.

That’s pretty much the equivalent of letting you change it to P/NP when you do bad because you can just start out with P/NP for ALL your classes and then change the ones you did well to letter grades.

hm yeah, i guess you are right. haha. but you can’t p/np the major classes in the first place, so how would you p/np every single class in the beginning?

You can take major classes P/NP, they just don’t count for your major in that case. You just have to re-take them for a letter grade later. Gotta agree with SoCaliii.

yeah, but what i mean is that if you are doing that major and taking the major classes, you can’t p/np. but yeah, forget about this idea lol.
