so yesterday i took a test in global and i felt so good about it. but i messed up on the scranton badly. i originally got a 94 on the hard copy but i messed up on the scantron and i ended up getting a 78..... do you think i should ask him if he can do anything? or should i just do nothing.

ask him, of course.

Definitely ask him.

You can ask him, but I really doubt your teacher will increase your grade. It is your own fault that you messed up, and not say a glitch in the scantron machine or a faulty scantron paper. That being considered, I doubt your teacher will find you deserving of the higher grade.

Definitely ask because it can’t hurt.

What do you mean by messed up on the Scantron? If it’s a machine error (e.g. you erased an answer and put the correct one, but it marked it incorrect), then your teacher will fix it. If you misbubbled in an obvious way (like putting the answer to #4 in #3, #5 in #4, etc.), there’s a decent chance your teacher will fix it then too. It can’t hurt to politely ask your teacher about it.

I don’t know what school you go to, but I think most of my teachers would change my grade if it was a genuine bubbling error.

If there is clear evidence, of course you should ask.

it was because i basically messed up the letters on the scantron. it was my fault not the machine. and i go to a private school.

If you were taking any standardized test your score would be severely hurt by such an error. Obviously your history test isn’t a SAT, but it’s your responsibility to make sure you bubble in the appropriate answers (and ask questions if you have any confusion).

At least you learned your lesson! A 78 isn’t so low a grade that you can’t recover from.

My teachers would (and do) change it. Ask.
