Do you think the world will end? And if so, how?

The world, according to the Mayan Calendar, is set to end on December 21, 2012 ( a date which may or may not be off by 50 years due to leap years).

Do you think that the world is going to end in two weeks and two days? Why or why not?

And if you do, how do you think it will end?

No because I’m not crazy.

The Mayan calendar is wrong. Didn’t count leap years. So I guess we’re already dead.

But for the sake of this thread: No. They never said the world would end, they just stopped making the calendar. I suppose their calendar recorder died, and nobody else wanted to step up for the job.

I’m just wondering what all of the people who say the world will end on the 21st will do on the 22nd. Before, on all those other days, they said “Oh, well this was just _____. December 21, 2012 is the real one.” So now what? Create another day I suppose.

Totally beaten to the leap years point :(

No.

It will end.

When i get mad as president and decide to set every nuke off at each magnetic core

Ill admit that somewhere in the back of my mind I am worried.

No, I do not think the world will end. People are idiots.

But my school thought of a great Senior prank: Everyone falls down and pretends to be dead at a certain time on the 21st.

I don’t think the world will end. My mom says she doesn’t want us leaving the house that day though - she says she thinks people will choose this day to do some crazy stuff.

No, I don’t think it’ll end. But if it did, I wouldnt have to take my semester exams. :)

No. I don’t think we can discuss religion, but that’s my reason why. I believe no one will know when the world will end. It could end tomorrow, or 100 years from now.

Besides that, the Mayans didn’t predict the end of the world. They just said it’d be different.

The world’s not going to end in 2 weeks. People who say that are delusional. It’ll be interesting to see how people act, though.

lolol when someone mentioned religion, I wondered what happened to the science vs. religion thread. That thread was golden.

My science teacher said the world won’t end. But I’m still worried.

Methinks TLC and MTV will join forces and create a show with Honey Boo Boo and Jersey Shore combined. This event with in turn cause a massive wave of terror, leading to a zombie horde and sparkling vampires, and ultimately causing the death of humanity as we know it.

tbh, I more worried about people going crazy over the situation before Dec. 21 than I am of it ending lol (which I don’t believe will happen). People get cut-throat.

I don’t think the world will end. I think it will undergo a rapid change. Not in the sense of the earth itself suddenly switching poles or planet x eating up earth. But in a sense that humans will change. We as humans are very capable of changing overnight. It could be that China could become a superpower. WW3 may begin. Oh right THE GALACTIC ALIGNMENT!!!

nope

10char

Actually leap years were factored in when the mayan date was translated into the gregorian calender date, so 2012 is indeed the correct date.

Only until I create a Death Star with no exhaust pipe

Incorrect. The world will end when I get deferred by Georgetown. Sooo… in approximately four days.
