DO you think these prompts are similar

I actually wrote my Cornell Engineering Essay, but I was wondering if I could also use this for my Duke engineering essay.

DUKE Engineering Prompt: If you are applying to the Pratt School of Engineering, please discuss why you want to study engineering and why you would like to study at Duke.

College of Engineering Prompt:
Engineers turn ideas (technical, scientific, mathematical) into reality. Tell us about an engineering idea you have or your interest in engineering. Explain how Cornell Engineering can help you further explore this idea or interest. (I talked about my interest in engineering and idea in this essay..)

bumpppp
10 char

I don’t see why not. Just remember to change Cornell to Duke and make sure that what you talked about for Cornell also applies to Duke.

Yes that’s what I hope to do, would you be able to read it for me ?

Please dont. I think the worst thing for a ‘why this school’ essay is being to generic. If the ur cornell essay can be changed to duke essay just by changing the school name, u my friend has failed. The reason why cornell asked this " Explain how Cornell Engineering can help you further explore this idea or interest." is because they want to see how much u know abt the school.

i know, i would just changethe parts where i would say cornell to duke, wanna read mine?

They are similar. You may only have to add something on why you would like to study at Duke.

The Cornell essay could be used for Duke, but the Duke prompt is so broad that it won’t necessarily fit the Cornell prompt.

I would think they could have the same beginning just fine, then of course each would diverge in the middle to answer their own specific prompt. If done right you should be able to make it work. You could at least write the second one and see what you think. Why not - you are already half way done with it before you start!
