One of my school's graduation requirements is taking Economics. However, last fall I enrolled in AP Government, a class I thought was one year long, so I put that in my application. What I did not know was that the class turns into Honors Economics for the second semester.

Do you think Duke will care about this (since it's like I'm dropping an AP class for an easier one)? Should I explain it in a letter? It's not as if I chose to take an easier course, it's just something that the school does in order for us to fulfill graduation requirements.

Thanks.

Every school I know of does that (including mine), it's not an issue. I think AP Government is ONLY a one semester course everywhere.

AP government is a full year course at my school, Enteril.

Ap Govt was a full year course at my HS too.

Please clarify: Have you already been admitted? Even if that's the case, I would still feel inclined to contact admissions and let them know of the misunderstanding and correct the official record. Don't worry--they won't rescind admission or anything :) If you have an application pending (which I doubt unless this is a special situation), then definitely I would make the correction. The ramifications would be worse if they thought you falsified the application (which we realize you didn't, of course).

Honestly, get your counselor to write a letter of clarification, that way nothing will seem suspicious

AP US Government is a full year. AP Comparative Government isn't offered, and is recommended you take AP Micro/Macro Economics at my school.
