I have no idea how the SAT is really like with this section. I’m glad someone thinks it’s great. That was a lot of ink I had to use.

I would also like to hear(read) of your experiences with this section of the sat.

I would recommend doing the Direct Hits vocabulary books: along with this Princeton Review Vocab Book: [SAT Power Vocab (College Test Preparation): Princeton Review: 9780804124560: Amazon.com: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Power-Vocab-College-Test-Preparation/dp/0804124566) to prepare an adequate base for the SAT Vocabulary.

What is the basis of the choice of words to include in the document?

^^

Pretty simple. Almost all lists of words started by culling the words from the older released tests. The problem is that some writers also added words on a whimsical basis, including words that are mostly GRE level. The biggest offender being Barron’s as they simply recycled their GRE list and presented it as a SAT list.

FWIW

PS The listed website “borrowed” the 1,000 words from someone else, namely Sparknotes.

Have to wonder about an organization that steals material and cannot spell fair correctly!
