Do you think this schedule would be TOO HARD

Next year Ill be a senior and Im doing the IB program and I have to take 5 IB classes to fulfill the requirements but I also wanted to take 1 or 2 more.

See:
IB English HL
IB History of Americas HL
IB Spanish B
IB Math Studies SL(have to take it b/c my school only offers this or Math HL and I couldnt get into HL)
IB Biology HL
AP Calculus

Now this schedule Im pretty sure I can handle, I was deciding to take AP Cal because I dont think Math Studies has any cal in it.

My other possible one is:
IB English HL
IB History of Americas HL
IB Spanish B
IB Math Studies SL
IB Biology HL
AP Calculus
AP Physics B

Now do you think that would be too hard taking an all IB/AP schedule. I think I could do it, but Im just worried about the science fair proj. in AP physics. Do you have to do one?

Yes, lol. I took 6 AP this year and had to drop down to honors in some classes due to the workload. If you don't like sleeping and love studying it'll be fine. I'm assuming you want an A in all of the classes, that's going to be hard; however, if you just want Bs then you can do it(I find that if you want a B you can slack, if you want an A you need to work).

yeah...thats quite a tough schedule

That looks like a quite hard schedule. I think it really depends on whether you think you can handle it or not, or if you're prepared to dedicate more time to school than you have in the past. I'm a sophmore with seven academic classes and a time consuming sport (three APs, two college, two honors and xc) and am finding it okay so far, so I would just see how hard it is and decide what classes you want to stay in. Good luck!

Hey it is going to be very hard, but I hadnt taken physics at all so my senior year would be the only chance I would get to take it. Or I could wait until I get to college but I kind-of wanted to at least have some background knowledge in physics before I go to college.

The only think thats gonna give u large worries are that spanish and american history. Thoses 2 are gonna be almost garunteed to be your hardest classes.

It sounds pretty hard, but it depends on how much you think you can handle and how well you want to do in each of them.

do the second schedule.

Thats the schedule pretty much all the IB kids at my school are taking.
I'm not in IB, but a few of my classes are AP/IB combined classes, I think if you worked at it everything would be fine. Kids at my school handle schedules like that.

If I were you, I would go with the second one, but do you have to have a math IB? I'm not overly familiar with the IB system, but could you put perhaps a different class in there instead of just a math studies? And which AP Calc are you considering, AB or BC?

You have to have an IB class in each of the six subjects they tell you or somehting like that. Anyway, basically I have to take a IB math course and my school only offers IB math HL and Math Studies so I have to take Studies. Im not sure which Cal it is, at my school it isnt divided into AB and BC it just says AP Calculus, so Im not sure if its both AB and BC in one class or one or the other, Im currently in pre-cal...

Right now my schedule is pretty hard which means next year is going to be even harder!!! Im taking 5 IB classes and 2 Adv. classes this year. Grades in History of Americas arent lookin to good right now. Plus since school started Ive been doing at least like 2 1/2 hours of HW every night, most nights its more like 3 or 3 1/2. Ughhh! so much HW!!

It really just depends on the workload that each of your teachers assign.

2.5 - 3.5 hours is absolutely nothing.

I pulled two 10 hours days this week with limited sleep and basketball practice in simply all honors classes and an AP, sophomore year. You have it pretty good for the caliber of your schedule.

Anybody else have any suggestions

Yeah, I would kill for 2.5-3.5 hours. Was up until 1:30 last night and that was about an average amount of homework, though I was sick so it took way longer. ):

You'll get into implicit/explicit minima/maxima at the end.

Yeah, but its not enough to cover whats on the Cal exam. Thats why Im taking AP calculus. And my main question is: do you have to do a science project in AP physics?

Looks pretty rigorous.
I'll be entering my IP Diploma program next year. This year my schedule is mostly gifted classes, language, music, PE and an AP. (In our school gifted = step above honors, step below AP in difficulty). My friends (acquaintances?) in the program say that it's challenging, but definitely not impossible. They're getting mostly A's.
