Just curious cause everybody I know who applied early somewhere are now saying their apps could've been better.
Personally I would've improved my essay conclusions and removed a typo. Is there ayone else who wished they had a 'change app' button?

Personally, I’ve had a few epiphanies I wish I could incorporate, like the question about a complement I’ve received or a few others. But that’s life I guess. Truthfully, I think the vast majority of us are better of not having that button available :p

I was really happy with pretty much everything on my app, and I sent in updates, so I’m not worried that important stuff got left off. My short takes could have been better, though. They were just kind of… awkward.

I’d change how I answered one of my short takes…
Other than that, I’m proud of my application.

^^what update(s) did you send in?

I’d fix this one error in my supplemental essay that’s sort of minor. I’m not too worried about it though.

Just a nicely worded letter talking about three music awards I won since november 1st. I also let them know about more minor stuff, like that I joined the pit for the musical. Also I sucked up and wished them happy holidays, et cetera. don’t judge me :<

I always have buyer’s remorse when it comes to stuff like this, but overall, I was happy with it, and luckily admissions liked what they saw. If you worked hard on it, admissions WILL see that.

I think my supplementary essay could have been better, but I did my best so I’m happy. I haven’t even gone over the app since submission.

To the OP- Are you Indian? If so, where are you from?

i haven’t looked over my app precisely so i would feel no regret. i know it would just kill me.

baaawwwww, i want that so much :/

I would completely rewrite my essays…

I’m afraid of looking back at my essays and finding a mistake or thinking that they’re terrible. I’ll dwell on it and then drive myself crazy before December 15th. This is an issue because I need them for other apps. I also wouldn’t have used a sophomore teacher rec. Hopefully it won’t be a big deal though.

I would do it all over again if given the chance.

It’s OK guys, people think like this like this every year, including the ones who get in!

If I forgot to tell them that I got Commended on the PSAT (I wasn’t having a good day when I took it), should I fax that to them? Lol… I really don’t think they’ll care one way or the other. I mean, it’s Commended…

I had a typo when I handed my app in. Not in the essays, but in the family information section. Now I have something to irrationally blame if I don’t get in.

But if I could do it again, yeah, fix the spelling error.

I heard the occasional spelling mistake shows you indeed are not a computer-programmed robot. It’s not all that bad.

I’m very happy with mine. My one concern is that the exert of my book I sent in as a supplementary material might not have been the best bit from the book, but I think I’m nit picking.

Same as kaira07; I’m not too happy with my essays anymore, but I would rather imagine mistakes than actually find real ones, so I’m not looking over my app at all.

I started hating my common app essay the minute I sent it in. In the weeks since, I’ve revamped my essay quite a bit-- made it shorter, etc. To be honest, I feel like I would have a much bigger chance of getting in had I applied regular and given myself more time.

If I won this Model UN Best Speaker award, does it merit sending in an update?

^I have the same question for the value of sending an update regarding Coca-Cola scholarship semifinalist status.
