BEST WISHES TO EVERYONE!!!

I think I'm going to go crazy tonight. I have to work from 4PM -10PM and yeah... the first thing I'm doing when I get home tonight is checking the site.

ill be rejected since I got rej. from cornell and dartmouth lol

Im goign to be rejected. Don't know. Leadership, exceptional musical experiences, 4.0 GPA, and 2150 SAT is just not serving me this week. Cornell, Penn, all rejected. Northwestern waitlist. What is going on!?

As expected, Im rejected. What's wrong with me? Im so hated by every college. Im going to end up going to a community college at this pace.

I can see why you are disheartened--it's tough to face being turned down by so many colleges. As you can see from the other posts, you are not alone. There is nothing wrong with you--your stats are solid and I can tell that you must be a very talented individual. Did you have some safety schools that you like? And don't give up on the waitlist--contact the university and let them know you are definitely still interested. Send a letter, extra information, update your resume--whatever. Sometimes what happens to many highly qualified students is that they set their sights so high and fail to have some backup schools. Hopefully you do, and you will find a good fit somewhere. Even if it isn't you first choice, there are lots of great schools out there, so try to keep an open mind and don't be so hard on yourself. Life isn't always fair or logical, but that is part of the experience.

Luckily, I got accepted into UMich's Honors program. You're right. This stuff is completley illogical. THe honors program boasts the top 10 pct of students form UMIch and has students that are accepted to harvard, penn, yale, adn the likes. I got accepted there, but not into a single one of the top 20's I applied to. TO make things stranger, I just got accepted into UC Berkeley applying as a NY out-of-state student....

my predictions were correct
i am psychic!

Congratulations! You do have some good options after all. No one knows for sure what will happen with the admissions process at any school. There are so many great students and it is impossible to take them all, and they definitely don't just take the kids with the highest stats. Duke and others have been know to turn down valedictorians and those with 2400 SATs. I guess it depends on what happens to impress the admissions committees on any given day.
