Do you think...

going to the gym regularly/exercising makes you learn better/be more productive? I played tennis all through high school and most of the first semester last year regularly, but now, I can barely find time to do so. I don't feel the same mentally (less driven, more careless mistakes, more time taken to learn new topics). Of course the classes are harder, but I have a gut feeling something is not quite the same. What are your experiences? Do you think going to the gym/exercising regularly makes you more motivated and mentally sharper?

exercise does give you endorphins…

Take the time to get some exercise.
You’ll work more efficiently and be more productive.
Do something fun and that you enjoy…maybe an intramural team? or work out with a friend? or schedule a regular hitting sesson?
Another alternative…does your school offer PE classes?
Remember…a sound mind in a sound body?
They go together.

Yes, exercising stimulates the release of endorphins which make you feel good, which equates to overall increased performance in school. In addition, exercise has also been proven to take part in a process known as neurogenesis, which is essentially the formation of new neurons in the hippocampus region(functions in memory & learning). So, exercise actually does have a biological origin in increased performance in school. Just something to consider.
