Do you want 3 dollars?

does anyone know how UCLA views "lack of progress probation"
is that considered bad academic standing?

also what if your placed on lack of progress probation in the SPRING but you do fine in the summer and are not on LPP anymore?

I will give 3 dollars via paypal to someone that calls admissions and gets a legitamate answer that is verified by someone else.

I can't tell if you are scared of them knowing who you are or lazy.

Either way, get out and use a payphone.

Damn! You are gonna have to pay more than that. This is College Confidential. Not K-1 confidential. K-1 kids probably get more money for lunch than $3. J/K. I'll pay someone $40 dollars an hour (must be a math genious) to tutor my dumbass in calc2. Not math genious. Just someone who can help me get an A+ on the final.

Oh yea. It would help to say I live in West LA. I'm not that bad at math.

y not contact your ucla counselor. Before you do, i want to warn you that asking my counselor a simple question (should i take the calc2 final in the summer to ensure i get a B) got my admission withdrawn. So make sure to word everything flawlessly.

I will not call b/c i dont want something like the above to happen and because i want my answer in writing, i did email them and i want an emaield responce... i have heard to many people who call and than the person on the other end "assumes" what was said.

I know for a fact that to EXPLAIN my situation over the phone to someone who doesnt even want to talk to me and who wants to get me off the phone ASAP is not a good idea unless i want my admission withdrawn.

I want someone else to call b/c i dont want thme to aks for my student id and so forth and then to assume stuff.

what is a "lack of progress probation?"

its when the # of Ws you get in a semester is more than 50% of the units attempted.

EXAMPLE:

English lit 3 units
Math 5 units
Language 5 units
Humanateis 3 units
Physics 4units

You recieve a W in
Math,Physics, Humanaties , which is 12 units

12 out of 20 attempted is 60%, so then you are on LAck of Progress Provation

^thanks. I'll pray for you and McChowder. The thought of having an admissions to a dream school revoked makes me teary-eyed :(

Did you report the changes??? If you did, then you are fine. My counselor called me and left a message (stupid %^&*). I think at that point, it was right for me to call back. I would rather have my admissions withdrawn sooner or later. Hell, if they still decide to reject me, I am gonna be wishing that they never admitted me in the first place.

thx nicopico. Thx 4 your prayers, but plz no crying. I'm going to do the crying tonight. Helps me sleep better.

its not a change, i send an email to newbruins@blah blah blah something.
I asked them if i need to add another course to avoid lack of progress probation, if LPP doesnt matter than i can drop my bio class siince its not a preq and its going over the 70 units and its not part of iGETC or anything. i have had no response so far. its been 1 week since i emailed new bruins@ balh blha.

I don't think i understand. You got W's in required courses for Spring '06?

no.

I am done with my IGETC as of FALL,
i am not done with major prep and i did not recieve any W's in major prep courses.
These are just courses, that dont even count toward my 60 units.

as of the end of fall 05, i have IGETC done, 60 Units done.

I dont have all the major prep done, this semester (spring 06) i took calc 3, i got an A. in the summer i will take DIffrential equations, i will then be missing 3 more major prep courses (linear,c++, econ 11(only at UC))

So the courses i got W's in are just not related to any of my requiremtns.

What was the verbage in your 'conditions of admission' agreement? You should have everything in writing right there. They'll hold you to it, but you can also hold it to them.

it says i have to be in good acaedmic standing, i dont know if Lack of Progress Probation is considered good/bad academic standing according to them

I know that being on academic probation doesn't constitute good academic standing, but progress probation isn't nearly as serious, so it's hard to say. Good luck, though; I hope everything works out.

yah i just want to know how ucla views progress probation, plus what kind of progress would i need to make if ia m done anyways.

its very confusing.

"good academic standing" that's so vague

No, I don't want $3.00. :]
