Do your parents help you study for tests? Do they edit your essays? Do they write your papers?

not at all. I won't let them see anything I do. I usually will talk about essay topics and get ideas from my mother, but that's it.
she did help me with editing on my application essay though.

The only time my parents help me with hw, is I'll occasionally ask my dad to explain some math work, foreign parents love math, haha.

My parents don't speak english!

Same with my parents killer... I don't think I've gotten help on a homework assignment or essay since third grade. Actually, I remember two times I got help. In third grade, my dad taught me the multiplication table, and then like sometime in middle school he help me cut some wood for a project.

Haha, they do like math.

I wouldn't dare let my parents touch my schoolwork. That's Grade Suicide.

never
i barely see them on weekdays anyway haha, niether gets back until like 12AM

No they don't, I think it could be useful, but the time it would take to explain to them completely, what I'm doing, would just be a waste of precious time to work. Also, I've found that I've learned much better by trying things 100% myself, and maybe struggling a little, but in the end I actually learn the material better.

I wish, my parents refuse to have anything to do with my HW.

my parents just leave me alone because they dont understand wth im doing

My mom used to help me study for tests (she would give me a term and I would define it). But, now I just study on my own.

They used to.

Then I started taking graph theory.

^^ Haha, my dad always tells me that I should be doing harder math, he thinks that your dumb if you haven't started calculus in freshman year...I can't wait till the math is too hard for him to help me, sadly that'll be in college.

My mom was a secretary at a high school and a government building for years, and basically learned to use the word processor I use as it was being developed, so I ask her about the nuances of Word and how to do particular things, and also some formatting questions that websites are really vague about. As for actual work, there was a unit in Geometry two years ago that I had a really rough time with, and my parents helped me out with that. Once in a while, I'll ask my mom to proof certain parts of a French assignment for grammar.

My mom helps me to study for vocabulary tests sometimes.
And my father tries to teach me study skills.

i wish my parents could help me, they lost that ability when i started high school. my mom is still useful for artwork though.

my mom doesnt help me very often. sometimes i'll call her if i'm having problems with something, especially with something science related. for the most part i can handle my school work pretty well. she's more of my go-to person when asking a random question, no matter what it is. she's like a walking encyclopedia.

My mom just yells at me to study.

oh my dad's from uruguay though, so if i need help on my spanish homework he's good for that. plus he teaches me little things my teacher doesnt brush up on.

My parents are generally uninvolved in my education, but I'm not complaining! I think it's made me into a more independent person. I've realized that I'm doing well because I want to, not because my parents pressure me.

Some of my friends' only motivation is their parents' expectations; I don't think that can be healthy...it causes unneeded stress and dependence on your parents.

I might add that while my parent's aren't involved, they do support me in everything I'm doing.
