<p>I want to be an ER doctor… but since there’s about a 2% chance of that happening, I’m aiming more for a ER physician assistant.</p>

<p>it seems like doctors are nearly useless except for making people feel secure, filling a limited class of prescriptions or doing life-saving surgery. of course they are nice, hard-working, compassionate people usually.</p>

<p>What do you mean “new trend” I’m pretty sure every generation lots of kids said they wanted to be doctors, but few actually followed through with it. Just like it is going to happen again this generation.</p>
<p>Even if I wanted to be a doctor, my disability would for the most part prevent it. Gladly, I don’t want to. As the son of one, I don’t really understand the trend.</p>
<p>When i was in middle i dreamed to be a transplant surgeon to transplant of kidney and pancreas. Transplant is one of the typical one in surgery. but after my high school my thought changes completely.</p>
<p>How is this a trend? It’s not. It’s always been like that. Lots of kids want to be doctors, comparatively few will make it to med school.</p>

<p>I understand it’s not really a “trend”, but there was TONS of kids in my school wished to become doctors. We have a club about Future Doctors and the join rate increased a lot over a span of 4 years according to the school principal.</p>

Reminds of kindergarten when the teacher would ask the students what they wanted to be when they grew up. I know someone who is currently in med school. Most students do drop out. </p>
<p>I would never want to be a doctor. I’m a private person that doesn’t like socializing more than necessary. I admire doctors for their dedication toward their work.</p>
<p>I’ve been interested in medicine for quite some time now, but it’s more of an interest and nothing more. I’m more inclined to follow a career in atmospheric or environmental science.</p>
