What are your most favorite documentaries that you have seen? Personally, I wasn't really a fan of them until I saw one today called "Mt St Helens: Back From the Dead" from NOVA. So if you guys could list some that you have really liked please list them. :)

Food Inc. was a lovely documentary. Exposed the effects of corporatism on the food we eat (and the society we live in, looking at the bigger picture). Fahrenheit 9/11 is a classic if you haven’t seen it yet.

Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman (actually, it’s a series of documentaries, but it’s pretty cool).

Edit: I didn’t like Food Inc. Too sensationalist, and the part about the lady going to Washington to argue about her son’s death dragged on and on (not to detract from the gravity of the situation). Overall, I agree with the doc’s theme, but I didn’t like the presentation, or the bits that were totally against genetic engineering.

Double edit: Oh my goodness, how could I forget Jesus Camp? Go search “Jesus Camp” in youtube right now and you’ll be amazed by the idiocy you see…

“exit through the gift shop”- it’s about street art/artists

Seconded on Exit Through the Gift Shop and Jesus Camp. I stumbled upon Jesus Camp on Netflix a few months ago, and I was astonished by, like Wiscongene’s observation, the ramant idiocy. Exit Through the Gist Shop was an extremely entertaining doc that really got me interested in the street art scene. Fantastically presented.

Wiscongene: I agree that the presentation could be better, but it’s still commendable that they did show mainstream America the kind of corruption (fueled by industrial food companies) that’s been affecting the country for ages (something that hasn’t been presented well by other docs as of yet).

race to nowhere?

God Grew Tired Of Us.

waiting for superman was surprisingly interesting.
plus this one about people living in subways, I forgot what it was called but it’s intriguing

Bump!!!

Inside Job. It’s about our recent financial crisis.

Supersize me

Watch anything from BBC…they’re amazing at these. Look up “BBC Spy” on youtube…its a series about how spies for the MI6 and CIA are trained. Pretty awesome IMO.

“Rock Prophecies” was fascinating.

It tails this dude named Robert M. Knight, one of the first rock photographers to capture Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin on film. Apparently he also discovered Sick Puppies and Panic at the Disco.

If you’re into rock music you should totally watch it.

Inside Job

Miss Representation

Bump!!!
