We’re excited to have both kids finished with undergrad! I have tons folders of paperwork and need to decide what to keep
Eldest received merit scholarships, 529 payments, National merit scholarship and payments we made. I have the Cost of Attendance statements and believe this will be sufficient.

Youngest received merit scholarships, need-based aide from the University and federal work study. We paid the remainder using savings and 529 plans. Do I need to keep all the FAFSA & CSS applications? Will a Cost of Attendance statement be sufficient considering it’s need based, merit and disbursements from 529 plan?

We kept the “stuff” for the same amount of time we keep our tax returns…seven years. Then we shredded it all. Woohoo.

I have the hard copies of the FAFSA filings, but also have an electronic copy. I’ll be getting rid of the hard copies soon, but will keep the electronic copies for a while.
