<p>I know this is a stupid question, but how does the Dodmerb work? I have no idea what to do for it. My West Point counselor told me that someone from West Point would contact me for my medical qualifications, but I read posts on here that say that I'm supposed to fill out some forms myself.</p>
<p>The DODMERB process is largely a physical exam administered by one of the doctors authorized by the academy. Although these statements are from the USNA website, the same DODMERB exam is valid for those applying to WP/USNA or AFA. This indicates they will contact YOU about setting up your exam. You will be provided instructions on what paperwork may be required when scheduling your exam. For example, doctors need to know if you previously had any serious illnesses or medical conditions. That is typical when preparing to take any physical exam.</p>
<p>From USNA website…"…The Naval Academy program is physically challenging. All candidates are required to undergo a thorough medical examination, because our graduates will be commissioned in a wide variety of exciting career fields with strict medical standards. </p>
<p>The Admissions Department will submit your name to the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB) who will contact you regarding where you may call to schedule your medical examination. DoDMERB will carefully review your medical exam to determine if you meet our medical standards for admission. Approximately one month after your physical is completed, you will receive (by mail) a status report of the DoDMERB findings. …"</p>
