Dodmerb

Is being classified as remedial by DODMERB (meaning that I have to submit more paperwork about my medical history) an uncommon experience? Or is it DODMERB being thorough and most people who are classified as remedial are eventually ok'd?

Thanks for your time

Also - If I improved my ACT scores but have been awarded a letter of assurance should I bother sending the new number?

I was remedialed by dodmerb (had speech impediment when younger) and I was Ok'd about 2 weeks after I sent in the paperwork saying I was "declassified as speech impaired".

I think it is dodmerb just being thorough and that most people are eventually ok'd. I seriously think more people are remedialed than you think and I wouldn't worry too much about it. I seriously think it all depends on what you are remedialed for. In my case, I knew I'd be fine. I haven't spoken incorrectly in years and I knew I had the paperwork to back it up. I think it all depends on why they require additional history. Different things are harder to get qualified from than others.

About your LOA question, I'd still send them the score, just for the heck of it. I guess you wouldn't need to but it wouldn't hurt.
