Dodmerb

Dodmerb disqualified for childhood asthma that I do not have anymore. With a doctors note and a check up I can prolly make the Navy reserve. Does anyone know if dodmerb will pass me if I am coming through the Navy reserve.
If anyone has any advice it would be very helpful. Thanks.

It would be great if I could get some advice.

Our friend's son was a childhood asthmatic and had an early entry appt (he is/was an outstanding star student, athlete, and all around GREAT young man). They did do more advanced testing to see if he was still reactive to allergens and within 20 seconds of spraying the allergen, he was wheezing, hence they didn't pass him.

They will re-evaluate and make sure you are not affected anymore, so don't give up.

Here's the quick answer they gave to BGOs -- if you had asthma prior to age 13 and it has not recurred, you're okay. If you've had it after age 13 and have needed an inhaler or other medication to treat it, you're unlikely to get a waiver.

I've had 2 candidates with asthma post age 13 -- neither got a waiver.

The above said, I'm not a doctor. Go to the other forum (as suggested above) where you can get more specific advice.
