<p>The general consensus seems to be that schools will not play fast and loose with scholarship offers. But you do lose the opportunity to potentially “negotiate” with the school later for an improvement in financial aid if you received a better offer from a peer school.</p>
<p>Does IU send merit offers with acceptances? Or does it wait and send them in the spring?</p>
<p>My son had a merit offer near time of acceptance, and has applied for more through the honors program. That potential award amount won’t be know until maybe March.</p>
