Ok here is my situation, I want to transfer to the university of maryland college park. Howver, there's a class that is a pain in the ass, and I really don't feel like continuing, and the class is absolutely worthless it transfers, but it doesn't fullfil anything except a pre req for a high level stat class. I currently have a 4.0 and my goal is to tranfser to the business school at maryland, which is very comeptitive. Has anyone applied to a compeitive program/university as a transfer with a "W" on their transcript? How did that go? Does the "W" affect the admissions process when you apply to a competitive program/university

Depends on the school. Most schools don’t much care as long as you don’t make a habit of withdrawal. Some schools read W as F. Give the admissions office at UM a call and see what their take on it is.

No, it won’t hurt. It’s actually better than getting Ds and Fs. Just do well on other classes…

The statistics class is tedious and the professor goes way to fast in his lectures. I can barely keep up and it’s interfering with my important classes. Anyways, the class is considered an elective, so it’s not that important. If I stick with the class, I’m pretty sure that it’ll screw up my 4.0 GPA. The professors in the department that teach the class aren’t that great.
