Hey Guys,

I was wondering if the book 10 real SATs helps for the updated SAT test from 2005 because they have tests that go back to 1994

Thanks!

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if the book 10 real SATs helps for the updated SAT test from 2005 because they have tests that go back to 1994

Thanks!

they don’t go back to 1994. If they did, they would include analogies.

^The 10 Real SATs book includes tests from 1995 to 2002 (yes, there are analogy questions in these tests). For math at least, many of these problems are very good practice for the current SAT. Primary differences are that quantitative comparisons aren’t used, and there is more emphasis on functions and other Algebra II concepts in the current exam, so the old questions will not cover all topics.

Are the reading questions still applicable to the modern SAT?

Bump. I am also curious.

me too, because i have this book and just realized that certain questions/topics are a little outdated

The College Board published two updated versions – The Official SAT Study Guide, and the second edition of the same book. These are all tests post-2005. But, if you just want to use the 10 Real SATs because you have it, I’ve done that, too, and I think the math, reading, and sentence completion are all pretty much the same. Just ignore the analogies.

Are some CR passages in the 10 RS recycled in the official sat online course?

Absolutely use the 10 Real SAT’s if you have it. For the reading, the passages haven’t changed beyond the fact that they didn’t have the short passages back then, so the old ones are fine for practice, and the sentence completions are exactly the same. Just ignore the analogies.

On the math, the types of questions for the multiple choice are exactly the same, so use those, too. Again, ignore the quantitative comparisons.

Good luck!
