Does 2400 (1600) mean everything?

<p>Probaly too many were from the coasts, and H rejected them to add geographic diversity. Still, it's dubious. 25% of the students at H score above 790 on either V or M. You don't get that by rejecting a lot of 1580s, they way they pretend to be so non-chalant about scores. Hughes is a propagandist.</p>

<p>True, but it's still obvious they are looking for high scores on one or the other. Harvard is totally image conscious and would never allow Yale or Pton to post a better 75th percentile. It's also why they have so many national merit scholars, which they achieve by taking apps from non-coastal states where the cutoff is so much lower. In short, the most brilliant people at Harvard are the admissions folks.</p>
