Does a 3.6667 UW GPA round up to a 3.7?

Hi. I have a 3.6667 UW GPA and I am concerned if rounding up to 3.7 would get me in trouble? I do not want to become disqualified for admission but I also want to increase my chances. Thoughts???

If they ask for GPA on 4.0 scale, that would indicate that you can round to the nearest 10th, so 3.7.

If they use 4.00 in the question, you should round to the 100th, so 3.67.

I seriously doubt it make any difference whatsoever, but that’s how I’d do it.

Yes, I agree with NickFlynn. Round to the decimal they are asking for. You will not get in trouble or be DQ’d.

From your knowledge/experience, do the majority of applications require the GPA in the tenths or hundredths place? I’m applying mostly to top 25 schools so what do they take?

Most schools will care a lot more about your transcript, from which they may make their own calculations to determine your GPA.

If they ask for your specific GPA then 3.67 is the best answer generally speaking.
But yeah, the others are right. Colleges will mainly look at your transcript as GPA means almost nothing because it fluctuates so much from school to school. They look at your transcript to see the rigor of your classes and then how you did in them.

So if I am to select my GPA from a list I choose 3.7, but if I type in in I choose 3.67?

Yes
